Consulting Services

Education Services

The Institute offers consulting services in the following areas of expertise.

  • Curriculum Design, development and assessment management. This includes, development and writing industry training specifications, training manuals, review of current training standards and training effectiveness assessment.
  • E-Learning and Online learning curriculum development. Industry e-learning and education based online learning development processes are fundamentally different. The institute works in conjunction with SEA Pty Ltd who has developed a propriety student centered teaching and learning methodology. This methodology utilizes Cognitive, Behavioral, Constructivist and structural Constructivist methodologies to deliver the most advanced and the most effective online learning experience for remote and distance education purposes available. This methodology can be seen working in a number of web based training scenarios including the Microsoft e-training system and the Autodesk University project.
  • ITC Instructional Design, Management, Development and evaluation services. Online and industry e-learning instructional design services are subject to a co-efficient of learning and teaching effectiveness and retention. Significant improvements in training effectiveness are achievable through the use of audio, video, animated simulations as well as a variety of other student and trainer integration feedback tools. The construction of these learning cues into an effective training framework is often subject to understanding the different learning types and the manner in which learning takes place both within an educational and industry training context.
  • Writing and development of training manuals and technical documentation. Update training is often delivered through training manuals in industry. The relevance and the manner in which information is conveyed determines the effectiveness of the up date training.
  • Information Technology and Communications network systems design and engineering. An effective ITC network that delivers effective services to end users is critical to the operations of a modern business and educational environment. Specialist services in network server configuration, deployment and management as well as whole system design and management services are offered. This includes a complete project management service that incorporates strategic ITC infrastructure planning and change management services.

Curriculum Accreditation and Government Training Policy

  • The institute is currently working on the accreditation of the Cert II to Advanced Diploma in Wind Energy as well as structuring the learning pathways in the engineering, urban and regional planning, science, environmental assessment, business and related course programs. This program is aims to address the skills gaps in the current national curriculum framework. For further information contact: Mr. Siegfried Angerer
  • The institute is working with state and federal government, unions and industry in the delivery of workable and logical training standards and education pathways projects to ensure that graduates are relevant and employable upon completion of the formal training.

The current issues are:

  1. Industry re-training costs of recent graduates.
  2. Industry upgrade training costs of current employees.
  3. Cost of basic knowledge and skill training in areas indentified as skill gaps.
  4. QA of current teaching and learning in schools, technical colleges, TAFE's and Universities.
  5. Relevance of current curriculum in schools, technical colleges, TAFE's and Universities to current industry practice.
  6. Multi-skilling of employees in specific job related functions; e.g. electrical engineers, broadband and digital communication, mechanical engineering and civil construction training for Wind Turbine Technical officers.
  • Training policies and national curriculum design in particular with regard to pathways, multi-skilling, cross certification covering a broader skill range, e-learning and continuous assessment of certification relevance and currency.
